The team at SpaSeekers have analysed data from Instagram over the last 12 months and revealed the top 10 places where sunsets are Instagrammed the most globally!
The data reveals a huge 286 million images of sunsets were uploaded to Instagram in the last year worldwide, which seems a little excessive if you ask us.
But each to their Instagram.
Here are the top 10 places where sunsets were Instagrammed the most:
Apparently you Insta lovers are SUPER into Californian sunsets, which were the most Instagrammed in the world with a total of 5.7 million photos in the past year, closely followed by Sicily, Italy and Bali, Indonesia.
Surprisingly, the UK achieves 6th on the most Instagrammed sunset worldwide beating Phuket, Thailand as well as Ibiza. 1.2 million photos of sunsets in Greater London were uploaded to Instagram in the last 12 months whereas Ibiza saw just over 1 million.
When analysing the 286 million sunset images uploaded, 98 per cent were found to portray a sense of joy whereas 2 per cent gave of a sense of sadness.
Some psychologists argue that admiring sunsets can boost well-being, increase generosity, and enhance life satisfaction – therefore a moment that deserves to be savoured.
