The Association of Travel Management Companies (ATMC) and Qantas have hosted an industry forum, bringing together Travel Management Companies, corporate representatives and senior Qantas leaders for open and constructive discussions on some of the most pressing issues facing the travel sector.

Held last week at the Qantas Campus in Mascot as part of ATMC’s ongoing commitment to advocacy, collaboration and industry education, the forum centred on airline distribution, customer servicing and the future adoption of New Distribution Capability (NDC), providing members with direct access to Qantas leadership and valuable insight into the airline’s evolving strategy.

Attendees heard from senior Qantas representatives including Kathryn Robertson, Alexandra O’Connor, Peter Ross, Renee Brooks and other airline leaders, who shared updates on servicing priorities, distribution developments and the roadmap ahead.

A key outcome of the forum was greater transparency around Qantas’ NDC strategy, alongside the announcement of a new advisory council comprising TMC and leisure agency representation, designed to strengthen industry consultation and provide a formal channel for feedback into future planning and decision-making.

ATMC chairperson David Goldman said the forum represented an important step forward in fostering stronger collaboration between agencies and airline partners during a period of rapid industry transformation.

“The corporate travel sector is navigating significant change, particularly around servicing, distribution and technology, and forums like this are critical in ensuring our members have clarity, visibility and a seat at the table,” said Goldman.

“We were particularly encouraged by Qantas’ commitment to greater transparency around its NDC roadmap and the establishment of an industry advisory council, which reinforces the importance of collaboration in shaping better outcomes for the travel ecosystem,” he said.

Goldman added that while there is still work ahead, the willingness of industry stakeholders to engage openly demonstrated a shared commitment to progress.
