Lisa Teiotu, MSC’s managing director for Australasia and a Travel Weekly 2024 Women in Travel Awards finalist has left the cruise line, it has been revealed.
“Lisa Teiotu has left the organisation after five years in her position as country manager of MSC Cruises, Australia and New Zealand and we are grateful for her efforts and contribution during this time and wish her every success in her future endeavours,” a statement from MSC said.
“As part of the new structure, Antonio Paradiso, VP International Sales will be providing the strategic direction for both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys in Australia and New Zealand.”
Paradiso was UK and Ireland managing director of MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys before his appointment as VP of International Sales for MSC Group’s Cruise Division in January.
Paradiso is reporting to Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, assuming responsibility for Australia, South Africa and Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland) for MSC Cruises while continuing his MD role of the UK and Irish markets. Travel Weekly spoke at length to Paradiso during a recent visit.

“It’s truly an honour to be recognised alongside so many inspiring and incredible women in our industry,” Teiotu said in a post before the awards held tonight (Wednesday) at Doltone House, Darling Island, Pyrmont, Sydney.
“Huge thanks to my amazing team, mentors, and everyone who has supported me on this journey. Looking forward to celebrating with all the finalists on the night!”
MSC Cruises appointed Teiotu as managing director for its Australasia business in June last year. She moved from her role as regional commercial director for the cruise line.
Teiotu joined MSC Cruises in November 2019 as sales director, responsible for driving the commercial development of the company’s ANZ business. Before joining MSC Cruises, she held the position of head of business development for ANZ at Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
