Ten Travellers Choice members enjoyed an exclusive networking event on Western Australia’s Rottnest Island/Wadjemup courtesy of Journey Beyond.

The agents travelled to the protected nature reserve, which sits just offshore from Perth and is home to the iconic quokka, on the Rottnest Express ferry, which takes just 30 minutes from Freemantle (or 90 minutes from Perth).

Upon arrival, Journey Beyond’s Fiona Stewart provided an update on Outback Spirit Tours, the company’s small group luxury outback tours operations, and its legendary Australian rail journeys, including The Ghan and Indian Pacific.

The Samphire Rottnest sales manager Monique Dowling provided a quick room inspection of the 64-key resort overlooking Thomson Bay before the group settled in for Italian-style lunch at the nearby Isola Bar & Restaurant.

Travellers Choice business development manager Tim Bolton said the day trip provided the perfect opportunity to bring agents up to speed with Journey Beyond’s ever-expanding portfolio of Australian products.

“It was also a priceless day of networking for our WA members, who relish any opportunity to get together and a chance to showcase just how much Rottnest Island itself has evolved as a tourism destination,” Bolton said.

“It might sit just off the coast, but some agents hadn’t been across for many years. The only thing we forgot to do was get the regulation selfie with a quokka!”
