Egypt is once again capturing the imagination of Australian travellers, with Travelmarvel revealing strong demand emerging ahead of the September launch of its new Nile river ship, Travelmarvel Sirius.

“Egypt has always held a powerful allure for Australians, with a history spanning more than 3,000 years that continues to captivate travellers today, and we’re seeing it return to the top of travel wish lists,” APT Travel Group CEO David Cox said. “The response to Travelmarvel Sirius shows there’s real demand for a seamless, great-value way to experience this extraordinary destination.”

The 124-guest Travelmarvel Sirius has been designed specifically for Nile River cruising, offering 62 cabins supported by a crew of 75. Each cabin features uninterrupted river views, a queen-size bed, individually controlled air conditioning, a minibar and a private ensuite with walk-in shower.

The vessel will operate the company’s Treasures of Egypt and the Nile itinerary, sailing between Luxor and Aswan while combining a river cruise with a stay in Cairo. The itinerary includes visits to some of Egypt’s most famous landmarks, including the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, Dendera Temple and the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum.

Guests will also explore Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Abu Simbel and Philae Temple, with all shore excursions led by Tour Directors who are fully qualified Egyptologists.

The launch comes as Australians continue to seek culturally rich and meaningful travel experiences, with Egypt’s blend of ancient history, iconic monuments and river cruising proving an increasingly attractive proposition.

On board, guests will have access to the Nefertari Restaurant, Ramesses Lounge and Bar, Sun Deck pool and Tutankhamun Terrace Café. Evening entertainment will feature local folklore performances, cultural dance shows and a themed Galabeya Party.

Travelmarvel is positioning Sirius squarely at travellers aged from 55-75, including couples, solo travellers and experienced river cruisers looking to tick off a bucket-list destination.

“We’re incredibly proud to not only return to Egypt, but to do so with a ship purpose-built to meet what our customers are seeking today immersive experiences, thoughtful design and exceptional value,” Cox added.

“Travelmarvel Sirius reflects our continued focus on innovation, delivering a premium river cruise experience on the Nile River at a price point that resonates with Australian travellers.”

Cox said growing confidence among consumers was also helping drive forward bookings.

“The Nile River is one of the world’s most legendary waterways, and this is a moment where confidence in travel is returning. We’re seeing Australians planning ahead again, and there’s never been a better time to secure a place on what is truly a bucket-list journey.”

With limited capacity and demand already building, Travelmarvel is banking on Sirius becoming a major drawcard for Australians eager to experience one of the world’s most enduring travel destinations.
