SABRE
It’s all red and black at Sabre Sydney. This is an office that sees 30 agents a week come through it’s floor specific glass lifts that overlook 13 floors with an internal skylight up top to give it a Willy Wonka lift feel. There are two training rooms and on the day we visit there is a conversion course for those familiar with other GDS platforms as well as an advanced training course with plenty of keyboard command shortcuts for agents.
“It normally blows them out of the water to learn quicker ways to do things,” Sabre’s Andy Greves said.
Sabre has been at this address on Sydney’s York Street since 2009, moving from the KPMG building at King Street wharf. There are company drinks every Friday night and the kitchen seems to be the heart of the office, with long tables to encourage collaboration as well as a space to get away from desks and sit in different pockets.
There’s also Sabre TV, streamed live every Monday with updates from the Australian and New Zealand offices. For the record, they have five offices in this region – Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Auckland and Sydney. You’ll be familiar with these posts if you have had training, although Sabre is increasingly focusing on virtual training online.
This is another office taking its cues from location, with rooms named after Sydney beaches from Newport to Collaroy.
