Care-share marketplace Turo has announced a global partnership with Skyscanner offering users a greater selection of vehicles.

The partnership is live in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and Australia, with Turo vehicle inventory offered directly to Skyscanner users via their site.

Users can book from Turo’s selection of over 1,600 makes and models from an expansive network of hosts in 16,000 cities. This partnership aims to make trip planning even more convenient by enabling users to compare flight and car options all in one place.

For Australians, some of the most booked cars include the Kia Carnival and Mitsubishi Outlander. These are go-to picks for winter road trips thanks to their roomy interiors, smooth ride, and plenty of space for friends, family, and gear. It is no surprise that on Turo, the top Aussie pick-up destinations are airport suburbs and Melbourne Airport.

Currently the most booked makes in the US are Chevrolet and Jeep, Honda and Dodge in Canada, and Landrover and Mercedes-Benz in the UK. Some of the most booked UK destinations for this summer include Heathrow, Gatwick, Edinburgh, and Manchester, making it clear that airports are a key focus for travellers. With a host’s permission, cars on Turo can also be driven across to Europe, further extending the trip.

From budget-friendly to roomy SUV

“We’re thrilled to partner with Skyscanner to make booking the perfect car as seamless as finding the right flight or hotel,” Turo UK managing director, Rory Brimmer, said. “This partnership will provide new and existing customers a convenient way to book cars that match their trip, whether that’s a budget-friendly ride, a roomy SUV, or something a little more special.”

With over 160 million users a month coming to the travel search sites, Turo is going to be able to tap into great global demand.

“We love putting the best travel options in front of our travellers – and what Turo offers definitely ticks that box!” Skyscanner senior commercial manager Kacper Trela said.

“We are so happy to have Turo onboard our metasearch platform which offers accurate, up-to-date, and transparent pricing across flights, hotels, and cars so that our travellers can search for their perfect trip.”
