Turtle Island Fiji has invited families to experience its highly sought-after “Family Time” weeks in 2026, with demand prompting a festive-season extension that feels a little like an early Christmas gift.
The expanded Christmas program, now running from 16 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, runs alongside its mid-year dates from 20 June to 18 July 2026. Traditionally an adults-only sanctuary, the award-winning private island opens its doors just a few times each year to welcome families for a relaxed mix of barefoot luxury, cultural connection, and shared island experiences.
“With Australians looking to make life easier and travel closer to home right now, it made sense to extend our end of year Family Time,” Turtle Island marketing director Racheli Evanson said. “We continue to see a strong interest from returning guests and new families alike, which led us to make this decision. It is always special to see different generations spending time together here and making the most of what the island offers.”
Turtle Island is an exclusive escape, hosting just 14 families at a time across its 500-acre paradise, complete with 12 private beaches and handcrafted beachfront bures, traditional Fijian villas. Each villa offers a secluded slice of paradise just steps from the iconic Blue Lagoon, creating a setting where families can reconnect in complete privacy while still enjoying the warmth of a close-knit island community.
During family time, the resort transforms into a playground tailored to all ages. Younger children are cared for with dedicated nannies who are with them from day one, while older kids are paired with their own “Bula Buddy,” a local companion for games, adventures, and cultural discovery. Days are filled with flexible, family-friendly activities including snorkelling, fishing, island walks, storytelling, crafts, and beach games, giving families the option to spend time together or explore independently.

Dining at Turtle Island focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients from the island and surrounding waters. Meals are included and range from casual breakfasts and private beach picnics to shared dinners and dedicated dining experiences for children at the Family Village. Families can choose to dine together in private settings or join other guests, depending on their preference.
Turtle Island family time offers a rare chance for families to experience a private island setting together, with the flexibility to balance shared moments and individual activities. With limited availability and a strong focus on personalised service, it provides a relaxed and well-supported environment for a memorable family holiday. Families who are interested in visiting Turtle Island outside of family time are able to book the island for exclusive use year-round.
