Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia collective members from across the country will congregate in South Australia’s Barossa Valley next week for the group’s annual meeting, with tourism a focus of discussion.

The UWEA members will travel from as far as Margaret River, Hobart and the Hunter Valley, with 50 representatives from 24 of the collective’s 29 member wineries attending the conference.

They aim to share knowledge and collaborate on ideas, hoping to raise the bar for experience-led wine tourism in Australia.

The event, from 5-7 August, incorporates all five Barossa Valley members, and opens with a welcome dinner at St Hugo, followed by a full day of conferencing at Seppeltsfield.

Guest speakers include AI expert Simon Kriss, Penny Rafferty from Luxury Lodges of Australia, Paul Turale from Wine Australia, Drew Kluska; Founder and Managing Director of specialist luxury travel company The Tailor, and representatives from South Australian Tourism Commission and Barossa Australia.

A gala dinner will be held at Yalumba – celebrating its 175th year of family winemaking – before a hosted famil on the final day, where members will visit the famed Jacob’s Creek before a tasting and lunch at Artisans of Barossa.

In the spirit of collaboration, several wineries from the host state have also been invited to attend the meeting and share the insights and knowledge garnered from being part of the collective.

“Our annual meeting is a pivotal moment for our collective, bringing together the best minds in wine tourism to share knowledge and inspire innovation,” Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia executive officer, Sarah Myers, said. “We are thrilled to convene in the Barossa Valley this year, a region that exemplifies the excellence and diversity of Australian winemaking.”

Jessica Hill-Smith said that the team from Yalumba is excited to be welcoming Ultimate Winery Experiences
members to their home in the Barossa.

“This year Yalumba celebrates 175 years of family winemaking, and to have the opportunity to share our
story with likeminded wineries is invaluable to ensure we continue to build the legacy of Australian wine
together,” she said.
