Qantas is turning its excess pyjamas, amenity kits and snacks into lockdown care packages, in case you want to pretend you’re travelling in a premium cabin instead of wearing track pants in your living room.

With all Qantas international flights and the majority of domestic flights currently suspended, the airline has an oversupply of premium cabin extras like the iconic business-class pyjamas, amenity kits and the all-important snack-size Tim Tam packets.

The airline has decided to make care packages out of this excess stock, so you can send one out to your friends, family and clients to stop them from going full shack whacky.

The packages can also be sent as anonymous if you’re selfless enough not to seek praise for your thoughtful gift-giving.

You don’t even have to gift them, you can just send them to yourself as a little pick-me-up, or to bring along on your next flight so you can pretend you can afford an upgrade.

You can send up to 10 packs anywhere in Australia via Qantas.com for $25 per pack or 4,350 Qantas points, including delivery.

Qantas’s executive manager of product and service, Phil Capps, said the airline orders bulk stock in advance and, with minimal flights, has items sitting in storage that could be better used to cheer people up.

“We already provide goods to some of our charity partners including OzHarvest and Neil Perry’s Hope Delivery initiative, but these packs offer Australians the opportunity to reach out to those they’re separated from due to border restrictions and lockdowns,” Capps said.

“Qantas PJs are always popular, and with people spending a lot more time at home and wishing they were travelling somewhere, we think receiving a surprise pair in the mail will be very well received. And probably very well-worn by the end of all this.”

The care packs are on sale now HERE, with free Qantas Frequent Flyer membership available for non-members to join the program and send care packs.
