Velocity Frequent Flyer partners with Hertz-owned car share company

Virgin Australia’s frequent flyer program has announced an Australian-first partnership with Hertz-owned car share company Flexicar.

Under the new partnership, Flexicar members can now earn Velocity Frequent Flyer points when they sign up and rent one of its vehicles.

The number of points Velocity Frequent Flyers can earn via Flexicar depends on their level, and excludes Flexicar memberships.

Platinum members will earn four points for every dollar spent, Gold members will earn 3.5 points per $1, Silver members will earn three points per $1, and Red members will earn two points per $1.

However, from 30 October 2020 and for a limited time, Velocity members can earn 1,000 points when they join Flexicar by 13 November and complete their first booking by 27 November 2020.

Members can also earn an additional 2 points per $1 spent on any completed booking until 27 November 2020 (terms and conditions apply, of course).

Plus, new Flexicar members will receive 500 bonus points after completing their first booking.

Velocity chief marketing officer Dean Chadwick said: “We are always looking for ways that Velocity members can earn points through their everyday activities, and so we’re pleased to launch this partnership with Flexicar, enabling people to earn Velocity points whenever they car share.”
