Virgin Australia has today released sale fares to Aussie hotspots, including Economy Lite, Sydney to Ballina Byron Bay, from just $49 one-way.

“Virgin Australia is committed to delivering more value and choice to Australian travellers, and this sale is another way we’re making that happen,” chief commercial officer Dave Emerson said.

“We know our customers want great fares with exceptional service and we are always ready to go the extra mile to offer the best deals and experiences in the sky.”

Available until 2 March 2025, Australian travellers can book flights to bucket-list destinations including Cairns, Uluru, Melbourne and Perth, unlocking access to some of Australia’s must-visit natural wonders.

Economy sale fares

Domestic sale fare highlights (one-way Economy Lite fares, valid in both directions)*

  • Sydney <> Ballina (Byron Bay) from $49*

  • Brisbane <> Proserpine from $59*

  • Melbourne <> Launceston from $59*

  • Sydney <> Gold Coast from $65*

  • Sydney to Sunshine Coast from $69*

  • Canberra <> Gold Coast from $85

  • Melbourne <> Adelaide from $85*

  • Brisbane <> Hamilton Island from $105*

  • Melbourne <> Uluru from $109*

  • Sydney <> Hamilton Island from $109*

  • Brisbane <> Uluru from $129*

  • Melbourne <> Perth from $189*

  • Brisbane <> Darwin from $195*

*Fares are on sale until 11:59pm AEST on 2 March 2025, unless sold out prior. For travel on selected dates between 30 April 2025 and 11 February 2026 (inclusive). Blackout periods and conditions apply. $49 price point based on a one-way Economy Lite fare from Sydney to Ballina-Byron booked at virginaustralia.com. Other domestic fare prices based on one-way Economy Lite fare for routes indicated, and other international fare prices based on return Economy Lite fares for routes indicated, booked at virginaustralia.com. Seat selection and checked baggage are not included in Economy Lite fares. Subject to availability. Payment surcharge may apply.
