Velocity Frequent Flyer and AGL are expanding their partnership to give members a smarter way to save while getting closer to their next holiday.
From today, Velocity Frequent Flyer members can sign up for the AGL Large Mobile SIM Plan and AGL Home Ultrafast nbn Plan to collect 18,000 Velocity Points on each plan.
They will receive 3,000 Points for each plan every month, for the first six months. Members can switch multiple mobile plans in their household from another provider and be eligible for Velocity Points per plan. That’s enough Velocity Points for a one-way flight for a couple on popular domestic routes+, simply by changing providers.
The offer is available to all Velocity members who set up a new connection with AGL or transfer their number from another provider.
You don’t need to be an existing AGL energy customer to take part, and you can also enjoy savings of up to $90 on the AGL mobile plans and up to $150 on AGL internet plans in the first six months compared to the standard ongoing rate for these plans.
The launch follows the success of AGL and Velocity’s existing partnership on energy and home electrification, offering even more ways for members to reduce household costs while unlocking travel rewards.
Leveraging household spend
The Champagne Mile’s Adele Eliseo said Velocity continues to expand points earning partnerships beyond flights, finding new ways for members to build points balances through regular household spend.
“Utilities are becoming a real focus for frequent flyer programs as a way to drive stickiness through recurring payments and to secure long-term share of wallet,” she explained.
“It’s important to note that the bonus points are delivered monthly over six months and tied to specific plan conditions. Always check that the value of points earned outweighs any extra cost on the plan required to take part.
There’s no formal lock-in, but the plan price rises after six months when the bonus earn ends. At this point, members should reassess to make sure the value still holds.
