Even though trips to America’s capital are off limits for now, there are still plenty of ways for your clients to stay inspired.

To fight the threat of cabin fever, Destination DC has put together a few fun ways travellers and agents can plan their next trip to Washington.

Enjoy a 360-degree virtual tour

Keen to see DC from all angles? Virtually transport to the US capital’s neighbourhood hot spots, awe-inspiring museums, and world-famous landmarks with a 360-degree virtual tour.

Experience what it’s like to step foot inside the Lincoln Memorial, walk through bustling Union Market or visit the Smithsonian Institute museum.

All 360-degree videos are best viewed through phone YouTube Apps, and can also be viewed from the YouTube playlist on the @washingtondc channel.

Celebrate DC in Spring with Bloomcam

The city is also sharing popular tourism attractions that may be missed amid coronavirus (COVID-19) travel restrictions, with the first-ever cherry blossom #BloomCam, showcasing the cherry trees surrounding Tidal Basin, as they hit peak bloom.

The new #BloomCam, donated by EarthCam, changes views approximately every five minutes and is best visible during daylight hours in Washington, DC requiring early morning viewing in Australia.

Kick back and put on a flick

A virtual vacation to Washington, DC also extends to a viewing of one of 20 or more films and TV shows featuring iconic landmarks throughout the city.

See inside the Smithsonian Institute Museums, including the National Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of History, in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Take in the city’s iconic memorials with Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, featuring the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial and Theodore Rosevelt Island.

Or, see if you can spot attractions like Ben’s Chili Bowl, the Maine Avenue Fish Market and the Washington Monument during the run-time of State of Play.

A full list of films that show Washington, DC at its best is available here.
