Webjet has become one of Australia’s first OTAs to launch a ChatGPT app to enable travellers to search and compare flights and hotels.

Offered on one of the world’s most widely used AI platforms, the app allows travellers to describe their destination and dates to receive instantly tailored travel options.

The technology offers conversational planning, instant recommendations and booking from Webjet’s inventory as well as side-by-side comparisons of flights and properties with images within the chat.

ChatGPT users with Free, Plus and Pro plans can connect to the Webjet app via the Apps tab and access its features directly using @webjet.

The launch comes as part of Webjet Group’s strategic growth plan, focused on applying AI to solve complex travel challenges and drive technological advance.

Group CEO & managing director of Webjet Group Katrina Barry said that the launch was a natural step for the company.
“Australians are increasingly using AI tools like ChatGPT in their everyday lives, including for travel. As these platforms become more embedded in how people make decisions, it’s important trusted travel brands like Webjet are part of that experience.
“The Webjet ChatGPT app makes it easier for travellers to search, compare and plan flights and hotels conversationally, before clicking directly through to Webjet to book. It’s a simpler, more intuitive way to plan travel in the environments customers are already using every day,” she said.
