After the blockbuster launch of its inaugural Norfolk Island tour, which sold out in just three days, Wendy Wu Tours has released a new and exclusive departure, ‘Norfolk Delights – Christmas in July’.
An extension of the operator’s Australia range, the Norfolk Island tour brings to life a largely undiscovered island paradise.
The eight-day departure encompasses a combination of experiences that take in the island’s history, iconic seascapes and delectable dining experiences through the island’s organic, paddock-to-plate food culture.
Visitors will experience an open-air festive lunch complete with all the trimmings set amongst the backdrop of the historical Kingston area.
In true Charles Dickens spirit, guests will embark on a lantern-lit ghost tour, dressed in period costume stopping at various locations including the Duplex, one of Australia’s most haunted buildings.
The tour also explores up close the beautiful historical areas of Kingston and Arthurs Vale, before cruising within the sparkling turquoise lagoons of Emily and Slaughters Bays viewing a kaleidoscope of coral aboard a glass-bottom boat.
Guests will also visit famed author Colleen McCullough’s beloved property and see firsthand how the area inspired creativity for her novels.
Norfolk Island’s culinary delights are on show throughout the tour, including an exclusive cooking class with chef Julien Vasseur, an organic cookery advocate who has recently relocated to the Island to establish a new cooking school specialising in paddock-to-plate cooking.
Other experiences include a lush, Christmas-inspired high tea on the lawns of magnificent Forrester Court overlooking the stunning views of Cascade Bay, enjoying a traditional fish fry complete with Polynesian dancing, meeting local organic farmers and learning about their process and purpose.
The tour is priced from $3,690 per person, twin share, and includes all accommodation, most meals (seven breakfasts, two lunches and six dinners), sightseeing with an expert guide and entrance fees and experiences. The tour departs on 8 July 2022.
Norfolk Island further complements Wendy Wu Tours’ Australia range, including the seven-day ‘Treasures of the Red Centre’ tour and seven-day ‘Tasmanian Trails’ tour.
