Melbourne is well regarded as Australia’s culture capital.

And as a premier destination for delegates and event planners, Melbourne’s constant evolution provides an array of new reasons to host business events in the city.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor to Melbourne or a wannabe local, there are always new hot-ticket items to add to the bucket list. Here are just a few of the newest absolute must-dos!

Get Wining and Dining

Yakimono – 80 Collins Street, Melbourne, 3000

The 80 Collins precinct has reinvigorated the Paris end of Collins Street, establishing itself as a new landmark for luxury retail and dining in the heart of the CBD. Its newest resident is Chris Lucas’s Yakimono.

For the ultimate networking experience with an emphasis on fun, book The Corner Room which seats up to 14 guests to enjoy cocktails, sake and a menu focused on fire in a space that gets in on all the action, with just the right amount of privacy.

Aru – 268 Little Collins Street, Melbourne, 3000

Aru is one of the newest restaurants in Melbourne, by the acclaimed team behind Sunda. Complete with a sleek fitout, and a menu that draws on dishes from the Asian region and beyond, cooked over the large wood fire hearth and dry-aged and smoked in-house.

Consider taking your next meeting offsite to Aru’s private dining room that opens up onto The Terrace. Seating 30, this area can be booked in addition to the private dining room.

HER – 270 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, 3000.

An entire building dedicated to the things Melbourne loves, HER is a wonderland of modern classic food, sophisticated drinks, art and music. Four distinct venues within the building are connected by a bluestone paved stairwell, a ‘vertical laneway’, coloured by an immersive lighting installation.

Whether it’s eating steak and pommes frites in HER BAR before settling into a leather banquette with a negroni; enjoying delicious Thai-style BBQ at BKK; or finding yourself and a new found business connection with a paloma under the stars on HER ROOFTOP, HER offers a trove of new experiences to share.

Discover Melbourne

SkyFarm (mid 2022) – 90/120 Swanston St, Melbourne, 3004

Want to take your next team-building experience to new heights? You won’t beat the incredible views at Melbourne’s SkyFarm.

A collaboration between three Melbourne-based sustainability companies, SkyFarm is the transformation of a 2000-square metre rooftop car park into an urban farm and environmental oasis in the heart of the city. Located in Melbourne’s emerging Seafarer’s precinct, it directly overlooks the Yarra River and Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre.

Grampians Peaks Trail

This once-in-a-lifetime experience takes delegates on a hike through the backbone of a mountain range famed for its dramatic scenery and Aboriginal heritage.

The 160-kilometre trail stretches the length of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park and features dramatic mountain peaks, rugged rocky outcrops, unforgettable panoramas and the ancient Aboriginal heritage of Gariwerd.

Stage one is already open with a 36-kilometre, three day hike through the rugged interior of the national park, beginning and ending in Halls Gap.

Q Train

Welcome your team aboard award winning restaurant, The Q Train, that travels along the historic Bellarine Railway between Drysdale and Queenscliff.  Enjoy a lunch experience that showcases the best of the Bellarine, guests can enjoy views of Swan Bay and local scenery.

It’s never been easier to depart Melbourne and take a business meeting or networking event offsite. Marking for a memorable day on the Bellarine, every minute of the journey is as much a part of the adventure, as the destination itself.

Packages are available for your team to sail directly from Docklands to Portarlington on board Port Phillip Ferries where your group will be met and transported to The Q Train.

So what are you waiting for? Make your next business event one to remember, and get to know the best of Melbourne!
