Whistler Blackcomb has marked the arrival of summer with the opening of Whistler Mountain Bike Park and the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, offering adventure and sightseeing experiences to travellers.
Hiking, sightseeing, mountain biking, and bear viewing are all on the calendar as travellers look to explore this stunningly beautiful destination outside of ski season.
The Summer Alpine Experience encompasses all there is to explore on both mountains. The 4.4km PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola spanning the distance between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains is a great way to experience the destination. Open now on weekends, it will open daily from 13 June.
Stepping off the gondola opens up access for travellers to more than 50 kilometres of hiking trails linked by chairlifts, with views of the Coast Mountains, seasonal snow walls, ancient glaciers and wildflower-filled slopes.

Summer Alpine Experience Pass and single-day lift tickets are now available on-line, with early bird rates in effect through 12 June. Australian travellers with Epic Australia Passes can receive complimentary gondola sightseeing access plus 20 per cent off bike rentals, accommodations, and dining. Travellers planning ahead for a 2027 summer visit to Whistler can purchase the Epic Australia Pass currently on sale at $1,285 before prices rise on 27 May.
Full summer access begins on 13 June, including daily access to Whistler Village Gondola, Blackcomb Gondola and the PEAK 2 PEAK. Peak Express Chairlift and the Top of the World Summit, home to Cloudraker Skybridge and Raven’s Eye Lookout, will also open on 13 June.
Whistler Blackcomb is also renowned for mountain biking. Summer 2026 at Whistler Mountain Bike Park WMBP,North America’s largest bike park, is shaping up to be one of the most significant seasons in the park’s history, further cementing Whistler’s status as the global epicentre of mountain biking. The season’s highlights are the 21st edition of Crankworx Whistler (24 July – 2 August) and the inaugural 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill (25-27 September).
WMBP officially opened on 15 May 2026 with the opening of the Fitzsimmons Zone – one of four distinct zones at Whistler Blackcomb’s Mountain Bike Park offering trails for beginners to experienced riders.
