Windstar Cruises invited Aussie travel media and agency partners on Star Breeze over the weekend to show off the ship’s new renovations.
Star Breeze was docked at White Bay Cruise Terminal over the weekend for its first visit to Aussie waters. Along with bringing a couple hundred happy travellers Down Under, the ship arrived freshly renovated and some lucky people in the industry got a tour and were then treated to a lavish lunch on board.
Guests were also greeted with Mimosa’s and were told a story from the leader of the ship Captain Chris Dodds, who recalled his time leading a ship following the declaration of the COVID pandemic. Enthralled guests were so amazed by his interesting anecdotes and captivating story-telling that one guest even suggested that the captain write a book.
The ship underwent its transformation over the pandemic, where it was cut in half and an additional 50 suites were added through a new block in the middle of the ship. Among the suites are 10 Star Porthole Suites, 15 Star Ocean View Suites with windows, 22 Star Balcony Suites, 2 Deluxe Suites with a French Balcony and 1 Deluxe Suite with an Ocean View window.
The ship’s length has extended by more than 25 metres and means the ship can hold 100 more guests and 19 more crew members. New public areas, including two new dining venues, a new spa, infinity pool, and fitness area have been added and the yacht also boasts all new bathrooms in every suite.
Star Breeze will continue around the coast of Australia and then up to Indonesia on its journey.
