John Woods has stepped up to join the team at Exhibitions & Trade Fairs (ETF) in the newly created role of senior operations manager.

The role is intended to reflect ETF’s commitment to world-class shows, and will see Woods manage the operations of all ETF show portfolios, including business eventsm lifestyle, industrial and international.

The move to ETF comes off the back of 17 years of experience in the industry, with stints spanning event management, business management and event operations.

His most recent role was as the general manager of operations at Australian Gift & Homewares Association, with his career path also paved by roles at Reed Exhibitions, Expertise Events and DMG World Media.

“John has a wealth of experience in event operations management including previous roles where he made significant contributions to major indoor/outdoor events, encompassing trade and consumer events,” ETF’s managing director Gary Daly said.

“We’re very pleased to have him on our team as we lead into a significant year of shows for ETF, including The World Gas Conference in Paris this month, National 4×4 Show, the new Drinks Industry Show, the Travel Industry Exhibition, ACE Victoria and Motorclassica all before the year’s end. John is an excellent team player who will make a great contribution to our business.”

Woods said he was looking forward to making a contribution to what is already a strong events delivery service.

“My aim is to continue the quality work of our Operations Teams and make the event experience for all visitors, exhibitors, sponsors, stakeholders and associations as smooth and enjoyable as possible.”
