Western Sydney Airport (WSI) is on the hunt for volunteers to act as trial passengers.
WSI has sent out invitations to people in Sydney to spend the day trialling out the new airport.
Volunteers won’t be flying anywhere but will instead be taking part in a simulated day of airport operations.
They will need to be available between 8.30am-3.30pm with dates available every Tuesday and Thursday from August to mid-October.
“This is your chance to play an important role in WSI’s history and experience the airport before it officially opens,” WSI said.
Volunteers who register by tomorrow can also win 1 of 10 double passes to see Chelsea F.C v Western Sydney Wanderers FC on 28 July at Accor Stadium.
What to expect
Over approximately 7 hours, volunteers will step into the shoes of a typical passenger and experience steps of the airport journey, including:
- Check‑in
- Security screening
- Moving through the terminal
- Departures and arrivals
WSI described it as a “hands‑on, immersive experience designed to simulate everyday airport operations.”
“You should expect a significant amount of moving through the terminal. There will also be wait times between activities,” it added.
