The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) will host more than 200 travel and tourism CEOs and senior executives in Valletta, Malta, for its 26th Global Summit, running 7–9 October 2026.

Themed “FUTU[RE]SET: Shaping the Future of Travel & Tourism”, the three-day event will bring together leaders from hospitality, aviation, cruise, travel technology, financial services, destination investment and travel distribution, alongside government and international organisation representatives.

Confirmed attendees include Christopher J. Nassetta (Hilton), Elie Maalouf (IHG Hotels & Resorts), Alejandro Reynal (Four Seasons), Tony Fernandes (Capital A), Jane Sun (Trip.com Group) and Pierfrancesco Vago (MSC Group Cruise Division).

Executives from American Express Travel, Accor, Marriott International, Expedia Group, JPMorganChase/Chase Travel and Virtuoso are also expected, among others.

It marks the first time Malta has hosted a gathering of this scale for the sector, and organisers say WTTC’s Economic Impact Research points to tourism making a significant contribution to the country’s economy in 2026.

“For many, this will be their first opportunity to experience Malta, and we are delighted to bring them together in Valletta for this landmark gathering,” WTTC president and CEO Gloria Guevara said.

“Travel & Tourism is entering a new era, and the Summit will give leaders the opportunity to address the forces reshaping our sector, share ideas and strengthen collaboration. Together, we can help build a more resilient, sustainable and competitive future for Travel & Tourism.”

Malta Tourism Authority CEO Carlo Micallef called it an opportunity to put the destination “directly in front of” the leaders shaping the industry’s future.

“The relationships created during these three days can extend well beyond the Summit and have the potential to generate meaningful opportunities for Malta for years to come,” Micallef said.
